Francisco Quezada Montenegro - La Labor, The Work

Aka ''Chespi'' was born on Finca La Labor,  located in Guatemala City. From a very young age he lived surrounded by the world of coffee. At the age of 17 he began to introduce himself directly to the farms to learn about the planting, cultivation, export, import and everything related to coffee. In 2002 he is designated as General Manager of Montenegro Farms.

La Labor is a crazy success story as coffee should not be able to be grown here in the city. Since the 1930s/1940s, the Montenegro family has brought in their own soil and created a sustainable ecosystem. When they take their soil samples to the Anacafe’s lab, they are are told it is some of the nicest soil they have seen for growing coffee in Guatemala!

Offering Suggestion: This coffee would be an excellent candidate for a feature or SO summertime espresso.
